Heart of Silver, Soul of Glass Chapters 5-7
Author: Stormlight
E-mail: Riverfell_Den@hotmail.com
Warnings: No spoilers, as this is sort of an original fic using FY and SM characters. Set in the Silver Millennium of SM, but not following that plotline at all.
Type: This is a crossover with Sailor Moon. Is kind of an epic romance/drama/action/humorous story. No hentai, though. Highest rating would probably be PG13. For more info on SM, visit UsagiandMamoru.com

Tamahome:
Hmmm...
Well, I can't say that I like stories that split myself and Miaka up. I adore my Miko and I want to be with her... well, at least the author got *that* part right.
Really, though, I didn't feel that this was an FY story at all. This felt like a SM story with the FY cast thrown in to make up the numbers. Certainly most of the action concentrated on the SM characters. But not my favourites in the SM cast, either... no Mercury, Jupiter or Venus!
The writing was good, and the technicalities well-observed. But the plot was pretty pedestrian. I've read it before. I hope the author has some surprises and twists up her sleeve, because everything so far was rather predictable.
I don't know... I feel very 'blah' about this story. The story didn't grab me, and I see no justification for either a crossover or the alternate pairing, apart from the ubiquitious "It's my story, and I'll do what I want!" Which justification I do accept. But I honestly feel that the unused parts of the SM cast could have filled in the FY parts and done it better; or, if she really wanted to do an FY story, she could have substituted five Seiryuu Shichiseishi for the SM characters very easily.
I won't be following this story, I can tell you that.

Mitsukake:
*rolls eyes at Certain Other Seishi*
Ah well, to each his own, I suppose. ^_^ Once again, I like this story. A LOT. In fact, everything I raved in about in my last review goes double for the second half of this story. :P
However, I would like to add that something in it is beginning to set off alarms-bits and pieces of it smack of "archetypical/stereotypical romance writing", so to speak. It's most certainly not a major thing, or necessarily a bad one, so don't misinterperet what I'm saying, onegai. However, I cringed faintly at Nuriko's 'one would almost think you're married' line. (So I read ahead, so sue me. ^_-) It's just one of those things that *have been done*, you know?
Also, it's starting to seem as though the storyline is going out of its way just to have lots of these 'romantic-tension-angst-whatever' moments. Don't get me wrong, these sorts of things are supposed to be the meat of romance fics. However, too many of them in one story and the charm begins to fade, ne? (Think of it as Miaka and Tamahome: they seemed harmless enough at first, but later on many of us were tearing our hair out due to the incessant "Miaka!" "Tamahome!" "Oh no someone's trying to molest me!" "I'll save you YET AGAIN so we can do an instant replay of every other rescue scene since episode one!" "TAMAHOME!" "MIAKA!"-oh god someone make it STOP!!...erm...right...I'm okay...)
Overall, however, my few complaints are largely a matter of personal story preferences and therefore nothing to get worked up over. This is a fairly stellar work, from a definitely stellar writer, and all I will suggest is that the rest of the fic takes a bit of caution to avoid wandering into the realm of cliche. I take it there will be more chapters for us in the future? *winks*

Nuriko:
Oh I am definately hooked. *Blinks, re-reading again* I said this before, I'm certain of it. Last time, I read ahead because I couldn't stop, but there was only up to chapter seven posted. This time I read up to nine, and all I can say is PLEASE write more soon? Onegai?
*Grins* I do love being a minstrel... and I definately can't wait to see what happens next. I agree with Mits that the marriage line is quite overused, but I can easily overlook that for the rest of the story. I just hope Serena and Endymion wake up soon. Funny... I said the same thing about Tamahome and Miaka in the series.
This is fast becoming my favourite story this year so far.
5 kasas!

Hotohori:
The things I've said about the past chapters of this fic still hold true now. One of the reasons I like this fic so much is because it does things that haven't really been done before in the fics I've read. There is a lot of romance going on, several pairings there, but it makes the story a bit more intriguing to my point of view. The way she is able to write a complex storyline together and still make it interesting is one of the many reasons Stormlight is one of my favorite SM & FY authors. 4.5 kasas, since it's not finished yet. *sparkles* More!

Chichiri:
As the others have stated, this is a very gentle romantic fic, just the kind that would put Tasuki to sleep no da!
*glances over to see Tasuki leaning against the wall, snoring gently*
Someone write a good action fic so to keep Flameboy happy please!
But anyway, the way this fic is turning all about and every which way other than what we're used to is very interesting indeed. It makes me wish it could be drawn into an anime no da! The emotional scenes are very strong without being overbearing and the storyline is good too.
